宮城県人会の会長である米澤義人さんの呼び掛けで、二世ウィーク、南加県人会協議会、小東京防犯協会のブライアン・キトウ会長の支援を得て、2009年に始まった
ロサンゼルス七夕まつりは、2023年の15年目になりました。
15年目となる記念で各県人会も各一つ作成の依頼を受け、福岡県人会もお飾りを作成して二世ウィ ー クにも参加、日系人博物館（JANM）展示されました。
福岡県人会も5月にJACCCの事務局にてワ ー クショップに参加し、赤岩会長、増田さん、百合子さんを中心にピンク、紫、白の鮮やかなお飾りが見事に完成しました。

The Tanabata Festival in Los Angeles began in 2009 following a call from Yoshito Yonezawa, the president of Miyagi Prefecture Association, with support from Nisei Week, Brian Kito, president of the Little Tokyo Crime Prevention Association and the Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai. The event marked its 15th year in 2023. In commemoration of its 15th anniversary, each Kenjinkai received a request to create one decoration. The Fukuoka Kenjinkai also created decorations and participated in the Nisei Week. These decorations were displayed at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM). The Fukuoka Prefecture Association participated in a workshop at the JACCC's office in May, where under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Akaiwa, and with the contributions of Mr. Masuda and Ms. Yukiko, vibrant decorations in pink, purple, and white were beautifully completed.
